Suggested BOFs
Please see board in venue foyer for definitive list of BOFs.
OpenGuides? BOF
We had quite a successful one at the London Perl Workshop last year -- Ivor Williams
PerlMonksBOF?
- A chance to put faces to node ids? -- Adrian Howard
EditorsBOF?
Or: How do you handle those @s and $s?
- A discussion about editors, IDEs, work setups, etc.
Side note: Vim 7 Perl omni-completion discussion. This is a kind of 'intellisense' feature introduced in Vim 7, and although syntax-omni can be used, a proper custom implementation would be much better. A few issues:
- support for Windows? (Flames to /dev/null, I like using the same tools on all platforms.)
- How? 'Offline' generation of some kind of souped-up ctags file, or use PPI?
IRCBotBOF?
- How much FUN is building IRC Bot's?
- How useful are they?
- How annoying are they?
- What is the maximum number of Bots on a channel?
- What base package do we use for the bot?
PerlMongersBOF?
- Help & Advice for existing group leaders
- Help & Advice for interested new group leaders
- A general Q&A session about Perl Monger groups
WsdlBOF
Web Services Description Language is supposed to make it easier for web services to be used between languages. Unfortunately the Perl way of working with them is not good. This is a chance for those who are forced to use a WSDL to get together and find something better.
micro-ISV
As a follow-up to my presentation and if anybody are interested we could do a BOF
AcmeMetaSyntacticBOF?
I'd like to discuss the future of Acme::MetaSyntactic, after the release of version 1.00, on November 13, 2006.
Topics will include: future themes organisation and release plan, web site, etc.
--BooK?
ActBOF?
Act is "A Conference Toolkit", a Perl toolkit used to manage 12 Perl conferences in the last 3 years. The authors would like to meet potential users and coders, to discuss the features that are missing, and also the publication of an installable distribution on CPAN.
